-Vietnam and Singapore are making significant efforts to enhance their bilateral relationship, with a focus on advancing the Green-Digital Economic Partnership that was initiated two years ago. This collaboration is expected to drive economic growth and sustainability for both nations, according to Professor Bilveer Singh from the National University of Singapore .

Professor Bilveer Singh.

Speaking ahead of Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam's upcoming visit to Singapore, Singh emphasized the potential of digital economic cooperation between the two countries, highlighting its promising future and substantial opportunities for development.

Professor Vu Minh Khuong from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy also noted that Vietnam’s large IT workforce presents a strong foundation for deeper collaboration with Singapore. Such cooperation, he explained, would provide significant momentum for the economic development of both nations.

Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam underscored Vietnam's crucial role in the ASEAN energy network, citing its vast renewable energy potential. Both countries have committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, with Vietnam’s energy sector playing a key part in meeting this goal.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh highlighted the importance of encouraging further Singaporean investment in high-tech industries, renewable energy, and digital transformation in Vietnam. He also stressed the need to support Vietnamese businesses in expanding their investments in Singapore.

Beyond economic ties, both sides are keen to broaden cooperation in education, culture, and tourism.
